Aspen Avionics has gained approval to interface its Evolution primary and multifunction displays with Garmin’s GDL 88 dual-band ADS-B datalink transceiver, with interface to the Aspen displays from the new Garmin GTX 345 ADS-B datalink transponder planned by the end of the year.
“With ADS-B compliance rapidly approaching, aircraft owners are looking for options that provide value-added weather and advanced traffic information at a price that is affordable and that will work with multiple display options,” said Mark Ferrari, vice president of sales and customer support at Aspen Avionics. “This interface clearly addresses those needs.”
The cost for the software to unlock these functions for either the GDL 88 or the GTX 345 is $795, and it can be installed at any Aspen Avionics authorized dealer.
