This 1979 Cessna 207A Skywagon Is an Extra-Large, People-Hauling ‘AircraftForSale’ Top Pick

A stretched version of the more-popular 206 Stationair, the 207 is designed for pilots who carry more passengers than most.

Each day, the team at Aircraft For Sale picks an airplane that catches our attention because it is unique, represents a good deal, or has other interesting qualities. You can read Aircraft For Sale: Today’s Top Pick at FLYINGMag.com daily.

Cessna’s 207 Skywagon is one of those GA airplanes that you do not see often, in part because they are not as common as other models but also because they tend to be snapped up by air taxi companies or flown by pilots who operate regularly in bush-flying conditions, transporting passengers to out-of-the-way destinations.

Private pilots with large families or lots of cargo to carry can also make use of this model, when they can find one. The 207’s additional seats—typically seven or eight—leave options open for bringing family friends and other guests along for day trips or vacations. Those more interested in toting camping gear or sports equipment can always trade passengers for cargo. The 207’s front and rear baggage areas offer generous packing space and more flexibility for balancing loads.

This Cessna 207 has 12,400 hours on the airframe, 645 hours on its Continental IO-520-F engine since overhaul, and zero hours since overhaul on its McCauley propeller. The aircraft interior was refurbished in 2022, and its exterior was repainted this year. Its basic VFR panel includes a standard six-pack of flight instruments.

Pilots looking for a utilitarian, high-wing load hauler but find the Cessna 206 slightly too small should consider this 1979 Cessna 207A Skywagon, which is available on AircraftForSale.
