Embraer reached a new milestone last week as it handed over the keys to the 100th Phenom produced at its Melbourne, Florida, facility to esteemed customer NetJets.
The achievement comes less than five years after Embraer launched production of its Phenom line at its Florida facilities, which have continually expanded ever since and will soon also be used to build the company’s new Legacy 450 and 500.
The Signature Series airplane handed over on Thursday constitutes the 40th airplane NetJets has taken delivery of from Embraer since the fractional ownership company placed an order for 50 Phenom 300s and 75 options in the fall of 2010. As of this past December, 10 of those options have been turned into additional firm orders, with NetJets attributing its demand to the strong reliability and low maintenance profile of the 8-seat light jet.
The Phenom 300, which was certified by the FAA in December 2009, claimed the title of the most delivered business jet of 2014, with a total of 73 jets handed over to customers throughout the year.
