Gulfstream has selected an ADS-B Out avionics package from Garmin for the G150, offering worldwide NextGen air traffic control compliance for operators of the midsize business jet.
The upgrade is being offered at Gulfstream's service center in Dallas. It involves replacing the G150's existing transponders with Garmin GTX 3000 Mode S Extended Squitter remote transponder and installing the GDL 88 ADS-B datalink receiver with integrated WAAS GPS receiver.
Unique to this installation, the GTX 3000 and GDL 88 can broadcast position information on both 1090 MHz and 978 MHz frequencies, ensuring traffic visibility to all ADS-B In equipped general aviation aircraft, Garmin noted.
