Mooney International has announced a new certified pre-owned sales program similar to those offered by automobile manufacturers. The program was developed in partnership with Premier Aircraft Sales, which has a factory authorized Mooney service center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
"There are individuals who want the speed, safety and style of a Mooney — and a plane as close to new as possible — at a pre-owned price point," said Mooney's CEO Jerry Chen. "We want to serve their needs, as well as the needs of pilots ready to purchase a brand new airplane, by ensuring the availability of some exceptional pre-owned planes that meet factory standards."
Mooney's certified pre-owned program provides customers the ability to buy Garmin G1000-equipped airplanes originally delivered between 2004 and 2014 with a 30-day/10-hour guarantee.
Prior to delivery, the airplanes undergo a 27-point inspection and have any cosmetic flaws such as touch-ups to the paint, repairs of the headliner and sidewalls, buffing or replacement of light covers, deep cleaning and reconditioning of the leather seats and more.
The mechanics also ensure that all mandated or recommended modifications have been done, inspections are current, rigging is corrected, and so on. There are currently four certified pre-owned Mooneys in inventory at PAS.
