Video: Fly Along with Grumman Widgeon

What could be better than a long cross country in a massive amphibian? A group of three pilots recently had a chance to ferry a 1943 Grumman G44 Widgeon all the way from Pensacola, Florida, to Victoria on the west coast of Canada. The pilots chronicled the flight using several video cameras and put together a fun video of the journey.

During the four-day trip, the pilots flew northwest over the midwest plains to the mountainous terrain in Montana and, after completing the border crossing procedures, landed in Calgary. The last segment of the flight, from Calgary to Victoria, took the airplane through a mountainous corridor with some of the most spectacular scenery in the world — the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia.
