Schrager Hampson Aviation Insurance Agency, already the largest independent aviation insurance specialty brokerage in the Northeast, is getting even larger.

The firm, which is a division of Schrager Hampson Aviation Insurance Group (SHAIG), has acquired Charles W. Bilella Agency Ltd., marking its sixth aviation insurance acquisition.

Charles W. Bilella Agency Ltd., has been serving the aviation community since 1975. Charlie Bilella, founder and owner of the agency, said he and longtime employee Jill Scheiter will remain on board, ensuring continuity and the same high-quality service clients have come to expect.

Biella expects the integration of the two companies to be seamless, with no changes to client policies or points of contact.

“This decision was made with our clients’ best interests in mind,” Bilella said. “By joining forces with Schrager Hampson, we are gaining access to additional resources and expertise that will allow us to better meet the unique needs of the aviation industry. I’m thrilled to continue serving our clients alongside Jill, now with the added support of an industry leader like Schrager Hampson.”
