MultiSump+ Fuel Tester

MultiSump+ Fuel Tester

The MultiSump+ Fuel Tester can enhance the messy and potentially expensive but very important preflight task of sumping fuel. The fuel sampler separates the impurities from the fuel sample so that only clean fuel is returned to the fuel tanks.

Like most fuel testers, the Multi-Sump+ has a stainless-steel rod that you push into the fuel sump. The fuel flows from the fuel tank into a small sample cup that allows you to inspect the fuel for water and other impurities. Once inspected, the fuel is simply swirled into the lower portion of the fuel sampler.

As the fuel flows into the container below, it is strained through a stainless-steel micromesh screen that filters out the contaminants. You can then proceed to sample fuel from up to seven additional fuel sumps before you return the clean fuel to the fuel tanks. The collection cup has a spout that makes it easier to pour the fuel into the tanks without spilling.

If you fly a newer single-engine Cessna, which has 13 sumps, this tester will make preflighting a little less cumbersome since you only need to climb up to return fuel twice.
