Piedmont Airlines is a regional carrier of American Airlines Group, the largest airline in the world. With its corporate headquarters is in Salisbury, Maryland, Piedmont employs more than 9,000.

Piedmont was founded by Richard Henson in 1931 as Henson Flying Service. In 1962, it began scheduled airline service operating as Hagerstown Commuter. Today, Piedmont operates about 400 daily departures to 50-plus cities throughout the eastern United States and Canada. Its fleet consists of ERJ-145s.

Piedmont operates crew bases in Philadelphia; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It has maintenance bases in Charlotte; Philadelphia; Roanoke and Richmond in Virginia; Middletown, Pennsylvania; Salisbury, Maryland; and Albany, New York.
