In honor of the event, Cessna Aircraft Company has partnered with its global Cessna Pilot Center (CPC) network to celebrate the Experimental Aircraft Association’s inaugural International Learn to Fly Day on May 15.
Anyone who visits and registers with a domestic CPC on May 15 will be eligible for two drawings. First prize is a $10,000 flight training credit at a CPC; second prize is a $5,000 flight training credit at a CPC. In addition, participating CPCs around the U.S. will hold local drawings for a free Cessna Sport/Private kit and their first flight lesson. For example, of the four schools hosting ILFD within a 50-mile radius of my hometown of Orlando (see my prior ILFD blog), two are CPCs — Flight Training Professionals, based at KORL, and Daytona Aviation Academy at KDAB.
“We are very excited about the International Learn to Fly Day event here at Flight Training Professionals," says FTPs Ed Comisky, "As of this writing, we already have 32 people who have registered for the seminars at the Orlando Executive airport. I expect to have almost twice that actually in attendance by this Saturday. As a Cessna Pilot Center it is great that we are able to offer the event participants entry into Cessna's Flight Training Sweepstakes.”
EAA designed the event to raise interest in flying and encourage current pilots to get individuals involved in aviation. It's not too late to sign up or to get a friend, neighbor or colleague involved EAA's International Learn to Fly Day. Visit learntofly.org to find the nearest event.
