EASA Approves G1000 NXi Updates To Citation Mustang

The update to the G1000 NXi gives European Mustang operators access to GWX 75 weather radar and GSR 56 datalink solutions. Garmin Aviation

Garmin Aviation has gained EASA approval for updates to the G1000 NXi for the Cessna Citation Mustang, making those upgrades available for both new and existing flight deck installations.

The approval follows the initial FAA signoff on the updates in June.

Those updates include compatibility with:

  • GWX 75 weather radar
  • GSR 56 datalink weather and communications
  • GTX 345DR ADS-B In solution
  • Dual diversity transponder systems

The GWX 75 is an all-digital weather radar system that uses a high-definition 16-color palette, which is four times more colors than the GWX 68 radar system it often replaces. It also features:

  • Detailed contouring
  • Optional ground clutter suppression
  • Optional turbulence detection

The GSR 56 provides iridium satellite datalink capability to access both weather and communications around the globe. It’s also part of the Garmin Connext suite of connectivity products. It allows for two-way text and voice communications as well as automatic position tracking.

The upgrade is available now at Textron Aviation Service Centers.
