Organizers are encouraging NBAA Convention attendees to allow extra time for entry to the show site in the wake of the mass shooting on the Las Vegas strip last week that killed 58 and injured more than 500.
Security is always tight for the three-day event, being held this year at the Las Vegas Convention Center and Henderson Executive Airport, but will include additional safety measures such as random bag and ID checks that could slow entry for visitors.
“In light of the horrific events that took place in Las Vegas, we are working closely with federal, state and local officials, as well as our own security team, to ensure that show participants will be in a safe and secure environment for NBAA-BACE,” said the National Business Aviation Association in a statement.
Organizers say attendees and exhibitors should expect to experience the increased security measures on the three show days, this Tuesday through Thursday.
“We will continue to coordinate with law enforcement officials throughout the show and adjust security measures as necessary,” the NBAA statement said. “We appreciate your support and patience as we take these important steps to ensure the safety of all our guests.”
