Epic Aircraft celebrated the completion of its round-the-world tour on Tuesday at EAA AirVenture. The fleet of six Epic LT aircraft returned to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, after departing from the city on July 7 to circumnavigate the globe.

The inaugural Epic Odyssey World Tour reached 21 cities in 21 days, crossing two oceans and three continents and logging 16,405 nautical miles within 51.5 flight hours. The journey concluded with the six participating aircraft flying inline formation.

Epic Aircraft coordinated the trip with Epic owners. “We wanted to offer our owners a unique challenge that would expand their skills, enhance their international experience and take full advantage of the considerable capabilities of this aircraft,” said CEO Doug King. “I think we all feel a great sense of accomplishment.”

At its celebration at EAA AirVenture, the turboprop manufacturer also announced that the majority of its FAA-mandated structural testing for the E1000 was completed, with certification anticipated for early 2017.
