Located in Danville, Virginia, Averett University is a Christian school that offers an aeronautics bachelor’s degree program with two concentrations. Admission to the Aerospace Management program is highly selective.
Program Highlights
Averett University is an FAA-approved Part 141 pilot school and flight operations are conducted at the Danville Regional Airport (KDAN), 10 minutes from main campus.
The school also offers a combined aerospace management degree with criminal justice for those looking to pursue a law enforcement related aviation career.

Piper Aircraft and Averett University have launched an Aviation Alliance to provide training aircraft as well as student scholarships, sponsorships, maintenance and instructor training, and enhanced marketing support.
The school is part of Region 10 of the National Intercollegiate Flying Association.
Value
Averett University’s tuition for both in- and out-of-state students is higher than most schools. Base tuition will run students around $37,000 a year before financial aid or scholarships. Base tuition does not include flight expenses.
Flight fees will vary depending on if a student elects to get additional flight ratings in addition to the one required for graduation. Overall, a student should expect to spend $90,000 on flight expenses at Averett.

Fleet and Facilities
Averett University has a fleet of Piper aircraft to train its students, including:

Graduates from Averett’s Part-141 flight training program are eligible for a restricted ATP.
Campus Life
Averett University can offer students on-campus housing at one of six residence halls, as well as many on-campus dining options.
Students can find like-minded students by joining one of the many student clubs and organizations available on campus, including:

- Criminal Justice Club
- International Life Club
There are also a few Greek chapters on campus for students .
There are seven on campus intramural sports students can also get involved in. One of the more popular sports is Glow in the Dark Dodgeball.
