Located in Ruston, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech University offers two aviation bachelor degree paths. One is aimed toward flight and the other is focused on management. Louisiana Tech has a lot of offers for students interested in aviation industry careers, such as airline partnerships, internship opportunities, and a low student-to-instructor ratio.
Program Highlights
The university is an FAA-approved Part 141 pilot school, and flight operations are conducted at the Ruston Regional Airport (KRSN), a 10-minute drive from the main campus.

From 2015-21, Louisiana Tech produced 111 professional aviation graduates. The graduate placement rate was 100 percent.
Value
Louisiana Tech’s tuition is on the high side for both in-state and out-of-state students. For in-state students, base tuition is about $22,000, and for out-of-state students, tuition will hover around $26,000.
On top of base tuition, flight students will have additional costs for flight courses. Over the course of four years, before financial aid or scholarships, flight costs will come in at about $70,000 for all necessary licenses to be a professional pilot.

The fleet of aircraft at Louisiana Tech includes:

The university also houses FRASCA Mentor (AATDs) for ground flight training.
Graduates from Louisiana Tech’s Part-141 flight training program may be eligible for a Restricted ATP.
Campus Life
Louisiana Tech is a midsized school and offers 11 different residential communities for students looking to live on campus. For students looking to grab a bite to eat, the university has eight dining facilities on campus.
Lambright Sports and Wellness Center is the campus recreation hub for Louisiana Tech. The center offers a variety of different leisure activities for students, including:
● A bowling alley
● An indoor heated pool
● A 30-foot rock wall
Intramural and club sports are also big at Louisiana Tech. Students can join one of 13 intramural sports, or they can choose one of the 11 club sports. For students looking to cheer on the home team, the university has an array of different college sports teams, including basketball and football.
With more than 150 different clubs and organizations to join, one can be assured of finding something of interest.
