Located in Orem, Utah, Utah Valley University offers three bachelor degree programs and one Associate of Applied Science program within its aviation department. All the programs offered can be done online or in a traditional classroom setting.
Program Highlights
Utah Valley Univeristy’s flight training is conducted at nearby Provo Municipal Airport (KPVU), which is less than 15 minutes from main campus. Utah University flight operations currently account for approximately 70 percent of all air traffic at this location.

Utah Valley’s Part 141 training facility is certified by the FAA to get students to that first airline job at 1,000 hours total flight time, rather than the usual 1,500.

Base tuition for in-state students at Utah Valley University starts at $3,000 a semester. For out-of-state students, tuition is average at $8,500 a semester. The base tuition fees do not include flight training.
The total program cost for flight training up to and including commercial AMEL is around $65,000, making Utah Valley one of the more affordable options.
The university offers scholarships for all students in an easy to use single application. Outside scholarships are also available for students to pursue.

As part of the flight training curriculum, Utah Valley has integrated a variety of flight simulation devices, which help reduce training costs by decreasing the time students have to spend in the actual airplane. The simulators include:
- FRASCA RTD
- Mentor
- PA44
Campus Life
Utah Valley University offers a lot of campus recreation for students to join or be a part of, including:
- Recreation sports
- Intramural sports
- Rodeo
The school also hosts more than 150 clubs and organizations. Clubs for all different types of interest from arts and performance to student government are available.
On-campus dining and housing are available to students to make going to school at Utah University convenient and inclusive.
