Fly a P-51 Mustang for $20?

For as little as $20 you could get a chance to fly a beautiful P-51 Mustang. Paul Bowen

Have you ever dreamt of flying a P-51 Mustang? Now there is an opportunity to do so while supporting a good cause. Mustang training specialists Stallion 51 at the Kissimmee Gateway Airport (KISM) in Kissimmee, Florida, has teamed up with Mercy Flight Southeast for a raffle that provides the winner with a complete flight experience in the legendary warbird.

Raffle tickets will be available from April 1 through June 17, when the winner will be selected. Each individual ticket costs $20. There are also packet deals available: three tickets for $50 or seven for $100.

The winner receives up to $500 for a trip to Orlando and a half-day experience at Stallion 51’s headquarters. The prize also includes a thorough pre-flight briefing, walk-around and cockpit orientation preceding a hands-on flight that allows the participant to fly as much as 95 percent of the time in Stallion 51’s Crazy Horse dual control Mustang. The experience will be recorded from multiple camera angles. The participant will also receive a commemorative photo with the pilot and the Mustang.

The proceeds from the raffle will go toward supporting the 700 volunteer pilots who fly life-saving missions for Mercy Flight Southeast.
