Garmin today announced its D2 Titanium, an aviator watch designed for functionality inside and outside of the cockpit.
The D2 Titanium, which retails for a suggested priced of $899, features a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coated hybrid titanium band and scratch-resistant sapphire lens. Its numerous in-flight features include access to METARs and TAFs, total flight time, route and the ability to sync with flyGarmin.com and the Garmin Pilot app. In addition to its numerous aviation-related features, the D2 Titanium Aviator watch boasts multisport functions for golfing, cycling, rowing, swimming, hiking, skiing, running and more. Connecting with the Garmin Mobile app, users can download more than 40,000 golf courses.
Existing D2 Bravo Aviator watch owners have access to a D2 Bravo software update that also enables these features, and support for flight plan transfer from the Garmin Pilot app is expected in June.
“With D2 Bravo Titanium, we’re excited to merge functionality and sophistication to bring customers a timepiece made of superior materials to those who live an active lifestyle outside of the cockpit,” says Carl Wolf, Garmin vice president of aviation sales and marketing. “Regardless of whether you’re on the golf course, in the boardroom or flying at 10,000 feet, D2 Bravo Titanium contains a comprehensive feature set that can be fully customized so it’s easy to transition to everyday activities.”
