Bombardier Business Aircraft’s flagship Global 7500 ultra-long range business jet was recently awarded a Transport Canada Type Certification, paving the way for entry-into-service later this year. The company said certification by the FAA and the European Aviation Safety Agency is expected to follow shortly. Transport Canada’s stamp of approval followed more than 2,700 flight test hours on five different test aircraft.
The Global 7500 offers a range of 7,700 nautical miles, 300 nautical miles further than the company’s initial commitments according to Bombardier. Additionally, “ … the Global 7500 exceeded its original takeoff and landing performance commitments, leading to a new published takeoff distance of 5,800 feet,” said Michel Ouellette, Senior Vice President, Global 7500 and Global 8000 Programs. “This improved takeoff performance distance is almost 500 feet shorter than the closest – and smaller – competitor aircraft, and enables the Global 7500 business jet to operate out of airports with shorter runways ...”
The newest Global offers four separate living spaces, as well as a leading-edge cabin entertainment system, coupled with ultra-fast connection speeds via Ka-band, allowing passengers to stream high-definition content. The aircraft also offers a multi-functional kitchen featuring vast amounts of storage space and room for an exceptional dining experience.
The 7500 uses the nice Touch cabin management system (CMS) that incorporates the Bombardier Touch dial, a new way to connect with the aircraft’s cabin electronics. The cabin incorporates Bombardier’s patented Nuage seat, exclusive to new Global aircraft designed for maximum comfort.
Bombardier's Global 7500 is expected to be on static display for next week's NBAA convention at Orlando Executive airport.
