Hartzell Launches the Lightweight Pathfinder Propeller

Hartzell teamed up with Lycoming and CubCrafters to create the Pathfinder propeller. Hartzell Propellers

Hartzell Propeller, working closely with CubCrafters and Lycoming Engines, is developing and launching the lightweight Pathfinder composite three-blade constant-speed propeller optimized for backcountry operations. The Pathfinder propeller with aluminum hub and structural composite blades weighs 44 lbs. and is a three-blade alternative to the reliable Trailblazer propeller. CubCrafters is Hartzell's exclusive launch customer for the new Pathfinder prop.

The Pathfinder propeller is an integral part of CubCrafters' newly designed firewall forward package, including a more powerful Lycoming CC393i engine. The new lightweight, fuel-injected engine delivers more than 215 horsepower and weighs only 10 lbs. more than legacy fuel injected 180 HP engines.

The new Lycoming CC393i engine and Hartzell Pathfinder propeller combination will be displayed at the CubCrafters' AirVenture 2019 exhibit at Booth 273/274, and is an option for new XCub orders with delivery in 2020 and beyond.
