‘I Learned About Flying From That’ Podcast Reaches Milestone
Special 100th episode celebration of FLYING’s podcast takes listeners on a nostalgic journey through our favorite pilots stories.

For nearly 90 years, GA pilots have shared their firsthand accounts of harrowing aviation experiences with FLYING and its readers. Those lessons shared in the "I Learned About Flying From That" (ILAFFT) column have helped countless other pilots avoid the same fate and become better, safer pilots in the process.
In recent years, the ILAFFT column grew to include a podcast, which added the extra dimension to the experience through exclusive interviews with pilots sharing their stories. What were the lessons learned? What would they do differently? What are the actions you can apply to your own flying to deal with a similar situation?
This week, FLYING's ILAFFT podcast reached a remarkable milestone—its 100th episode.
100th Episode
In the special 100th episode celebration of the ILAFFT podcast unveiled this week, Firecrown Media Aviation Division Group president Lisa DeFrees shared insights and experiences from behind the scenes. In a conversation with host Rob Reider, DeFrees reviews the top 10 favorite stories that captivated listeners over the past five years, while also offering listeners a glimpse into future episodes.
