When you separate from the military and re-enter civilian life there is a period of adjustment, especially when it comes to career skills. All In Aviation in Las Vegas, Nevada, is helping military flight instructors make that transition through the DOD SkillBridge program.

All In Aviation is the first independent flight school in the Silver State to partner with the DOD to help military flight instructors transition to the civilian world. All In Aviation has been approved to hire and transition-train military certified flight instructors during their last six months of active duty.

All In Aviation has locations at Henderson Executive Airport (KHND) and North Las Vegas Airport (KVGT). The school offers training from private pilot up through commercial on a fleet of Cirrus aircraft.

Civilian Life

The SkillBridge program was launched in 2011 by the DOD to enable military personnel to work with civilian companies. The program gives service members a chance to work apprenticeships and internships and gain the skills they need to transition to civilian life.

Active-duty certified flight instructors enrolled in the program are eligible for transition training in Cirrus aircraft, which will better prepare them to be instructors in the civilian world. The Cirrus, a technologically advanced aircraft with a built-in parachute, is a favorite of flight schools around the world.

“Since being inducted as an Honorary Commander of the U.S. Air Force at Nellis Air Force Base last year, my team and I have been hard at work finding ways to engage with the local military community,” said Paul Sallach, president of All In Aviation. “Joining SkillBridge gives us another avenue to support our troops while helping them to prepare for a successful career in civil aviation.”
