Those who already hold orders for Cirrus' SF50 Vision jet will have their maximum delivered price capped at $1.39 million. That's for an aircraft configured similarly to the SR22 GTS piston model currently available. That includes the Cirrus Perspective by Garmin avionics suite, synthetic vision, and certification for flight into known icing. Enhanced vision is listed as optional on the GTS. As of mid-July, Cirrus was counting "nearly 500 positions reserved to date" for the single-engine jet. New buyers who place a non-refundable $100,000 deposit before the end of this year can expect to pay $1.55 million for the SF50. The price ratchets up to $1.72 million after that, with a required deposit of $50,000. All prices are in 2009 dollars. Cirrus president and CEO Brent Wouters said there has been interest from "several" third-party investors in backing the jet program, but that Cirrus will move forward with internal funding in the meantime. He assured customers, "Our commitment to the Vision Jet is absolute and unequivocal. Cirrus has the personnel, leadership and conviction to bring the Vision Jet to serial production as quickly as possible."
