Hawker Beech Plans To Cut Another 410 Jobs

** Hawker Beechcraft facilities in Little Rock**

Hawker Beechcraft will cut about 410 jobs at four locations as it seeks to reemerge from bankruptcy as a smaller company. Top officials informed employees of the cuts in a letter sent out on Wednesday.

The reductions are part of a process that will involve closing the Hawker Beechcraft Services facilities in Little Rock, Arkansas, San Antonio, Texas, and Mesa, Arizona. The company is seeking to re-emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy as a stand-alone company called Beechcraft Corp., according to the letter.

The closures will affect about 240 employees at those facilities. In addition, the company will cut about 170 jobs in Wichita and at its Little Rock completions center, where the company is completing the final Hawker Beechcraft jets for customer delivery. The business jet product line is now for sale.

So far this year, Hawker Beechcraft has issued layoff notices to more than 1,000 Wichita employees. Those being laid off in this most recent round will be given 60-day notices on Friday, according to the letter.
