US Airways Flight 1549 Pilots to Appear at EAA AirVenture

Two of aviation's biggest heroes will hold court at EAA's Theatre in the Woods the evening of July 31. Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger and First Officer Jeff Skiles will attend various other events during the annual EAA AirVenture extravaganza at Oshkosh's Wittman Field (July 27 to August 2). Along with the rest of their crew, the two pilots made aviation history-and lifted the hearts of millions-with their "miracle on the Hudson" ditching on January 15. No word whether or not this will be Sullenberger's first trip to the annual Oshkosh event, but Skiles is a veteran attendee, having visited with both his pilot parents dating back to the days when the show was still held in Rockford, Illinois. AirVenture Chairman Tom Poberezny said, "At EAA AirVenture, they'll have the opportunity to talk in person with fellow aviators on how their training, planning and airmanship skills were tested."
