Epic Flight Academy Grows With New Facility Near Dallas
New campus launches operations with three flight instructors and a new Cessna 172 Skyhawk.
New Smyrna Beach, Florida-based Epic Flight Academy has opened a new satellite flight school at Addison Airport (KADS) in the Dallas area, the company announced.
The move marks the latest satellite facility to be opened by the school, which trains both pilots and aviation mechanics at locations including Kentucky, Arizona, and multiple sites in Florida.
"We chose Addison because of the quick access to various airspace, including [Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (KDFW)],” Cindy Lovell, Epic Flight’s director of education, said in a statement.. “We get a lot of flight students from Texas in New Smyrna Beach and thought this would be more accessible for future students.
The grand opening at KADS was January 31 during a ribbon-cutting ceremony with guests that included members of the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce and potential flight students, along with many already enrolled, said Brock Rees, Epic Flight’s director of satellite operations.
According to Lovell, the Addison campus is starting out with three flight instructors and a new Cessna 172 Skyhawk.
"We plan to add two to three by the end of the year as enrollment grows," she said. "Ground school is done in person one on one with the instructors."
The facility, which also has a GTX advanced aviation training device (AATD), caters to pilots seeking airline careers, as well as those who are seeking a Part 141 training experience for expediency.
