One-G Simulation Launches New SOCATA TBM 850 Trainer
Executive Flight Training plans to use the Tarbes 8 advanced aviation training device.
Executive Flight Training has added one-G's new Tarbes 8 simulator, which represents the SOCATA TBM 850, to its fleet, the Seattle-based advanced aviation training device (AATD) manufacturer announced.
FAA approved AATDs, such as the Tarbes 8, are used to help pilots transition from a single-engine piston to multiengine, turboprop, or light jet aircraft.
EFT has training facilities in Beaufort, South Carolina; Savannah, Georgia; and Dallas. The company offers specialized and customized scenario-based training in full-motion, type-specific simulators geared toward higher-end piston aircraft, such as Barons, along with turboprops like the Pilatus PC-12, and King Air series, as well as Citation jets. The training is insurance company approved.
“Since day one, the one-G team has worked to create productive training solutions aimed at elevating pilot safety and proficiency," said Xylon Saltzman, CEO of one-G Simulation. "The Tarbes 8 is our latest example of fulfilling this very mission, offering unparalleled fidelity for TBM 850 pilots.”
The Tarbes 8 features a model-specific flight deck with realistic full-scale TBM 850 flight controls and ergonomics, and an advanced instructor operator station allowing for realistic scenario-based training.
“The Tarbes 8 was the perfect addition to EFT's simulator curriculum,” said Douglas Carmody, CEO of Executive Flight Training.
The company has been using the one-G Tarbes 7 with favorable results, Carmody said.
"This advanced training device provides our instructors with the ability to simulate realistic, complex emergencies that you cannot execute in the aircraft,” he said. “This fosters operational excellence in the cockpit and a safer, more efficiently trained pilot."
