Sporty’s Releases Instrument Rating Course for 2021

Using the Sporty’s Instrument Rating Course, pilots can access the program from whatever device makes sense during their training. Sporty’s Pilot Shop

Sporty’s has released the next volume in its suite of flight training applications, the Instrument Rating Course for 2021. The course can be accessed through the Sporty’s hub, just like previously released courseware in the system.

The Instrument Rating Course—like the Learn to Fly course that debuted last fall—offers comprehensive video-based training, a knowledge test study program with endorsement service, and resources to complement a pilot’s learning sessions. Pilots can upload their own documents (such as aircraft flight manuals) for ready access, and have the ability to study in flashcard mode, or create custom review sessions. Connectivity with ForeFlight allows the user to download the knowledge exam endorsement to their electronic logbook. Pilots can also receive FAA Wings program credit for completing the course.

The courseware can be accessed through iOS and Andriod devices, along with delivery via Apple TV, RokuTV, and ChromeCast, and because the pilot’s progress is tracked through the hub, users can navigate seamlessly between using different platforms while taking a course. The course also integrates with Redbird Flight Simulations’ GIFT program in its flight training devices. There is no ongoing subscription fee; the one-time purchase price of $249 secures lifetime access to the program, including any and all updates.
