Sporty’s Pilot Shop has joined up with legend Patty Wagstaff on a new Intro to Aerobatics course to guide pilots into the world of aerobatics. Full of crisp HD video and sharp graphics, the program takes you through an introduction and history of aerobatics, through basic and advanced maneuvers, and the elements of an aerobatic aircraft. Wagstaff—who runs her own aerobatic flight school in St. Augustine, Florida, Patty Wagstaff Aviation Safety, LLC—gives tips on finding a good aerobatic course or flight training organization as well.

The course content shows all of the maneuvers as Wagstaff executes them in her Extra 300, and it dives into the details of deciphering aresti diagrams that form the code for aerobatic routines from the Primary and Sportsman IAC (International Aerobatic Club) levels all the way through to advanced airshow routines in specific aerobatic boxes. The precise filming and 360-degree views give you the sense that you’re flying along with Wagstaff.

The Intro to Aerobatics course retails for $49.99, and it can be viewed on a variety of devices depending on what delivery method is most convenient for you—and you can trade back and forth. You can access the course online in a web browser, on the Sporty’s training app for iOS and Android, on AppleTV or on RokuTV.
