Textron Aviation announced it will move production of the Cessna Caravan to its Independence, Kansas, facility to make room for production of its newest business aircraft offerings at its headquarters factory in Wichita.
The manufacturer didn’t specify when the move would happen, but it did say the shift isn’t expected to affect employees’ jobs.
The move will make room at the company's headquarters for production of the Citation Longitude jet, which is expected to enter service late next year, and the Denali turboprop, which is still in development.
The Independence plant currently produces all Cessna pistons as well as the Mustang and M2 jets.
