Oriens Aviation and Aeros Flight Training, a U.K.-based flight academy, have signed an agreement to purchase 14 Tecnam P-Mentors.

The agreement, announced at Pilot Expo in Brussels, stated that the first six of the single-engine, two-place IFR trainers will be delivered this year.

The Tecnam P-Mentor is certified by both the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the FAA. The aircraft offers flight schools a training platform with a controllable pitch propeller and simulated retractable landing gear to give the students the "most effective VFR/IFR training," according to the manufacturer.

"We set up a steering group of five senior engineers, managers, and instructors to evaluate the three leading two-seater trainers currently available in the market,” Aeros CEO Nick Dunn said in a statement. “Tecnam came out on top in terms of quality, cost, and after-sales service."

Aeros Flight Training serves 600 students at locations in England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland.
